₹28.5 Cr Cash Seized In Birbhum: Former Govt Bus Driver Arrested | Tulu Mondal Link Under Probe



One of the biggest cash recoveries in West Bengal since the Partha Chatterjee case has stunned investigators.Birbhum Police recovered ₹28.5 crore in cash and 15 kg of gold from the residence of Minar Mondal, a former government bus driver who later entered the stone business. The seizure included 14 gold bars weighing 1 kg each and 10 gold biscuits of 100 grams each, with the gold valued at approximately ₹21.5 crore.Police have arrested Minar Mondal and are investigating his alleged links to businessman Tulu Mondal , who has been associated with the stone quarrying business in Birbhum. Investigators are examining the source of the recovered wealth and whether it is connected to an alleged illegal financial network.The recovery has also triggered a political debate, while authorities continue to probe the money trail, business links and ownership of the seized assets.
