The family of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez says they were left “horrified” after defense attorneys for singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, allegedly raised claims that appeared to shift blame toward the teenage victim during a court hearing. Family attorney Patrick Steinfeld said the judge rejected that approach and ruled prosecutors presented enough evidence for Burke to stand trial. Steinfeld criticized the defense arguments as “very disturbing”, claiming allegations about Celeste’s death and behavior had no evidentiary basis. The ruling marks a major step forward in the case as the Hernandez family continues to seek justice.
