Two Army personnel were injured in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The injured soldiers, Havildar Vijay Kumar and Naik Sharanapa Angari of 8 Rashtriya Rifles, were airlifted to the Army Base Hospital in Srinagar and are reported to be in stable condition. Officials suspect an old anti-personnel mine was triggered during routine patrolling. The Army has launched a sanitisation operation to check for additional explosives in the area.
